• Running, a hospital, and a Kindle

So I was doing pretty decent at running, until I got so sick I had to go to the hospital. At 4 in the A.M.  Don’t worry I wasn’t running at the time. I really don’t think I could have driven myself, and I didn’t want to go anyway. So my mom finally decided that she wanted (or had?) to take me to the ER. From there we sat in the waiting room for a little while, then I had my first ever IV. Then I got to lay on an inclined bed with a machine squeezing me every 30 minutes or so to check my blood pressure.  All I could think about was wanting to sleep, but they kept making me get out of bed to do stupid things like pee in a giant bottle. Which was mostly silly because I was dehydrated. There was no danger of filling that thing up. I know I was wore out, but my mom had it worse, since she didn’t have a bed. I was sick, but i felt worse for her having to stay there with me. Thanks mom, I wouldn’t trade you for the world. I can always count on you.

Now a week later, I’m feeling pretty awesome again. I started running before the weekend, then for a late birthday present my parents brought home a new Amazon Kindle. I pretty much haven’t ran since. But Caleb posted a blog today that has made me want to get back to it after sitting idly for a while. I’m not as comfortable as he is with posting my weight and junk though. I’ll just say that it’s been on a slow decline for a while now :) Gotta be proud of the little things.
