I agree with this self-description. GMH is lacking the teenage angst that comes with FML and is a truly cheerful site.

I’m going to watch the Lost series finale tonight when I get home. It will be a sad day, the end of an era. Even though it got a little weird toward the end, I will still miss it.

In just a few weeks, you can carry 8 million songs in your pocket with the MOG All Access application for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android. The beta versions we’ve been testing are seriously changing our whole music-listening paradigm. Just a few reasons why we’re excited:
* Find and stream non-stop, on-demand music to your phone, and access your library and playlists any time. Plug in your phone to any sound system, or enjoy on headphones.
* MOG Radio is great for the car. Start streaming anything and MOG keeps the music going. Set the slider to mix in similar artists and you’ll have more control and far better discovery than other radio services.
* Download as much music as your phone can hold to listen to when you’re on a plane or on the subway. It’s as simple as tapping a button - unlike some other music apps, you don’t have to create a playlist first.
Here’s a peak at the iPhone app:

“Pearl of the Stars”
Year of the Black Rainbow (2010)
When you go, I will know.
Follow you to the stars.
And when the world burns apart,
There will be a place for your car.
I’d give you everything,
If only I’d have known you’d take it.
But you don’t, ‘cause you’re you.
That’s why I’ll always love you.
My pearl of the stars.

There has been an uprising in the number of friends I have that have android based phones. So I thought I’d post my list of what I tend to use the most, for my benefit and for them to pick and choose what they might want.
AIM
Aol instant messenger. Self explanitory for those that use instant messengers on phones. Allows users to log in to AIM and facebook chat.
Advanced task killer
ATK, kills apps that don’t have an “exit” feature. Frees up memory and can help keep your battery usage in line.
Astrid
Task manager. As in task lists, that can sync with your rememberthemilk.com account.
Astro
A file manager that comes with the ability to back up all of your installed apps to your SDcard and gives the option to restore all of them if you have to ever do a system wipe.
Barcode scanner
Allows you to scan barcodes and qrcodes. QR codes are codes usually associated with apps on the market. A quick scan of the code on your screen will take you right to the download page instead of having to search on the market for it. Barcodes on items can be scanned and a product search conducted. This app can be used with www.androlib.com (all the links I have provided go there).
Bloo
A nice looking, easy to use facebook application.
see http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/26794-why-app-facebook-instead-browser-looking-good-fb-app-look-here.html for more information
Bonsai blast
Fun little game to pass the time.
Dolphin browser hd
Alternative browser for android phones. HD version is meant for 2.0 and 2.1 OS. Has some cool features that the stock browser doesn’t have.
Droidlight
Flashlight application that turns on your LED for a bright flashlight.
Last.fm
Music streaming application. Only it’s not limited to just music, has stand up comedy as well. I use this when I get tired of pandora. So far I haven’t discovered any listening limitations. The only drawback I have seen has been the delay between selecting a station and actually connecting to it. Other than that, it works nicely.
Listen
Google listen is a nice manager for podcasts that syncs with a google reader subscription folder and can be set to auto download new episodes.
Maps
This is kind of a “duh” app. Google maps lets you see where you are fairly accurately and enables you to get directions to places through the navigation aspect. Has turn-by-turn voice navigation or the ability to just view a list of the step-by-step directions.
Movies
By flixster. Gets your location and finds the nearest movie theater, lets you add your favorite movie theater, shows you show times of new movies, and see reviews. Not only just for new movies though, but also has a large database of movies already released, and a list of upcoming dvd and theater releases.
OI file manager
Lets you manage files on your sd card. can be useful for browsing downloaded files to attach them to emails.
Pandora
Popular streaming radio application. 40 free hours a month and customizable stations.
Shazam
Identify the music you hear somewhere. Does a pretty decent job of ID-ing songs and lets you search youtube or amazon mp3 for it.
Showpedia
Create a list of your favorite shows and get reminders when new ones are airing. Useful if you watch a lot of television.
Skype mobile
Free im’ing to your skype contacts and free calls to skype contacts with cheap skype to mobile or landline rates. ONLY works on 3G (no wifi). This app isn’t listed on androlib. To download and install: Go to app market > Verizon Tab > Skype mobile. It’s not a very long list, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. This may be a verizon-only app, I’m not sure.
Sms backup
Backs up texts to gmail in an SMS label. Nice way to be able to search for conversations.
Sms backup & restore
If you couldn’t tell I was victim of the random sms deletion bug. It was annoying, and this made it a little better on me. Allows for auto-scheduling sms backing up. It mostly prevented annoyances for me, but for business users, SMS messages might be a little more critical to maintain.
Sms popup
Turns your screen on upon receiving a text message, shows you the users picture and message for a set number of seconds. Has several options, for instance: picking a new color for text message LED color, vibrate pattern for text messages, and the same options for individual contacts (certain LED colors, ringtones, and vibrate pattern per special person).
Swype
Currently in closed beta :( However, it is an app that installs an alternative keyboard. The best way to describe it is instead of lifting your finger after every letter, you only have to do so after every word. Swiping your finger/stylus from letter to letter allows for quick input. The app itself is simply amazing at recognizing patterns for words, so it’s rarely wrong as long as you are in the ball park.
Register to be notified when the beta is open again http://beta.swype.com
Twidroid
Twitter client that shows your twitter stream, lists, and allows for easily sharing links from your browser, upload pictures, videos and more. Twidroid can be configured to use bit.ly for link shortening so you can keep statistics on your link clickage.
Voice
Google voice provides several uses for your phone: Free texting, single phone number to ring you at multiple locations, web interface for texting (very similar to the gmail layout), option to use it as your voice mail service, visual voice mail, voice mail transcriptions. All in all, it’s just awesome and you should at least register for an invitation from google. https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/
I’m always willing to try new apps. Think I might like something? let me know by sending me an email.
